Indianapolis Airport Solar
The facility will include more than 41,000 solar panels, each capable of producing 280 watts at peak power production. The panels will be installed on ground-mounted racking systems that will fill nearly 60 acres of land near the airport exit from I-70.
"The airport serves as the gateway into Indianapolis, and this is a great way to showcase our efforts to become a more sustainable city,” said Mayor Greg Ballard. ”Installing solar panels on airport property not suitable for other development with the intent to power our city using renewable energy sources and generate revenue demonstrates the culture of
innovation and commitment to sustainability that has taken root throughout Indianapolis."

Lake Station City Hall
A 72.52kW roof mounted solar array on the new Lake Station City Hall. Since the south facing roof space was limited, the array is situated on East, South, and West facing roofs to take advantage of as much roof space as possible. The project also contains three (3) 1.2kW vertical axis wind turbines. The electricity generated will be used to help offset the electrical use in this new LEED Certified building.

Staughton Senior Community
Johnson Melloh Solutions completed a 4.14kW solar array installation at Staughton Senior Apartments in Indianapolis. The array is mounted on a single story residential style building with an asphalt shingle roof. The array consists of 18 Bosch 230watt mono-crystalline panels with Enphase M215 micro-inverters. By going with micro-inverters, the Owner will be able to have one of the most efficient solar arrays possible as well as an industry leading online data monitoring solution. During this installation, a group of 25-30 students, teachers, and community leaders from nearby Arlington High School came over for a guided tour and lesson on solar technology from the Johnson Melloh Solutions Project Manager. The group of students were from a math and science class that focuses on technology such as this and its real world application. The JMS Project Manager gave a half-hour tour and lesson on solar technology and this particular installation, and then opened it up for what turned out to be an excellent question and answer session. Other topics discussed with the students included the future of solar technology, energy efficiency, battery technology, and career opportunities in the green energy industry.
